ConTrail 2007, 1/x: Quick overview
What a huge weekend.
We’re all back now from our 2nd annual ConTrail private mini-convention escape, about 20 hours of solid gaming for 11 participants over two days - even more intense than the Albury expo!
A quick count suggests we got in about the same number of total game sessions as last year, ie., just shy of 30, with some real biggies, like Dutch Revolution and Die Macher in there (although I was playing other games while these ones were on…!).
Some of the non-gaming highlights include watching wallabies hop around just outside the lodge (apparently spooked by golf buggies at one point), having the place fill with smoke due to a leaky chimney on Saturday afternoon, and being far enough away from city light pollution on a perfectly clear night so that you could look up at the Milky Way.
Talk of ‘08 has already begun . If this proceeds, I hope we can swell the ranks with those who missed out this year.
Over the coming week I’ll aim to get some pictures, session reports and other experiences posted, and as usual I encourage the other attendees to contribute too!
